I liked it, especially Peter's struggle between taking revenge and following the Shaolin way. Well done !!
One small thing confused me a bit though ... "For although the victims had been merely prostitutes, the media blitz had the city shrouded in a carnival of fear."
Merely Prostitues ? I know it refers to what the journalists made of it. Please, don't be mad at me, but that sounds a bit like other victims are worth more than prostitutes ...
Apart from that, I was and will remain a big fan of Peter + Caine stories. Provided they both stay alive... :)

A "first" story - nice! Natural progression but still unexpected. You've got some really nice scenes in here. A good read.
